Prophet Isḥāq ﷺ was the second son of Ibrāhīm ﷺ, born miraculously to his elderly wife Sārah, who was beyond childbearing age. His birth was itself a miracle — announced by angels who visited Ibrāhīm ﷺ on their way to destroy the people of Lūṭ ﷺ.
Isḥāq ﷺ was a prophet in the land of Canaan (Palestine). He continued the mission of his father, calling to monotheism. He is the patriarch of the Israelite line of prophets — his son Ya'qūb ﷺ (Israel) fathered the twelve tribes, from whom came Yūsuf ﷺ, Mūsā ﷺ, Dāwūd ﷺ, Sulaimān ﷺ, and 'Īsā ﷺ.
