Prophet 'Īsā ﷺ (Jesus) was born miraculously to the virgin Maryam (Mary), without a father — by the command of Allah "Be, and it is." He is one of the five greatest prophets (Ulul 'Azm) and is called "Rūḥullāh" (Spirit from Allah) and "Kalimah" (the Word of Allah).
He spoke from the cradle as a newborn to defend his mother's honour. He was sent to the Children of Israel, calling them back to the pure monotheism of Mūsā ﷺ and confirming the Torah while bringing the Injīl. He performed extraordinary miracles — healing the blind and lepers, raising the dead, and creating a bird from clay that came to life by Allah's permission.
In Islam, 'Īsā ﷺ was not crucified — Allah raised him alive to the heavens. He will return near the Day of Judgement, pray behind Imām al-Mahdī, break the cross, and establish justice. His return is one of the major signs of Qiyāmah (the Last Day).
