Prophet Dāwūd ﷺ (David) began as a young shepherd from the tribe of Judah. When the Israelite army faced the giant Goliath (Jālūt), the young Dāwūd defeated him with a sling — one small stone — placing his full trust in Allah. This victory launched his rise to become king and prophet.
Allah gave him the Zabūr (Psalms) — a scripture of praises and wisdom. His voice was so beautiful that mountains and birds would glorify Allah alongside him. He was also gifted with knowledge of ironworking — Allah made iron soft for him, and he fashioned armour (chainmail) for the first time. He ruled with justice and wisdom from Jerusalem.
