Daily Islamic Phrases
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Bismillāh ir-Rahmān ir-Rahīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
بِسْمِ Bismi = In the name
اللّٰهِ Allāhi = of Allah
الرَّحْمٰنِ ir-Rahmāni = the Most Gracious
الرَّحِيمِ ir-Rahīmi = the Most Merciful
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ
Alhamdu lillāh
All praise is due to Allah
اَلْحَمْدُ Al-hamdu = all praise / the praise
لِلّٰهِ Lillāhi = belongs to Allah
سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ
Subhānallāh
Glory be to Allah
سُبْحَانَ Subhāna = Glory be to / Far is He above
اللّٰهِ Allāhi = Allah
اَللّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ
Allāhu Akbar
Allah is the Greatest
اَللّٰهُ Allāhu = Allah (subject)
أَكْبَرُ Akbaru = is Greatest / is Greater
More Daily Duas
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّٰهَ
Astaghfirullāh
I seek forgiveness from Allah
أَسْتَغْفِرُ Astaghfiru = I seek forgiveness
اللّٰهَ Allāha = from Allah
إِنْ شَاءَ اللّٰهُ
In shā' Allāh
If Allah wills
إِنْ In = if
شَاءَ Shā'a = He willed / He wishes
اللّٰهُ Allāhu = Allah
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً
Rabbanā ātinā fid-dunyā hasanah
Our Lord, grant us good in this world
رَبَّنَا Rabbanā = Our Lord
آتِنَا Ātinā = grant us / give us
فِي Fī = in
الدُّنْيَا Ad-dunyā = this world
حَسَنَةً Hasanatan = goodness
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللّٰهِ
Lā ilāha illallāh, Muhammadun rasūlullāh
There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah
لَا Lā = No / There is no
إِلٰهَ Ilāha = god / deity
إِلَّا Illā = except
اللّٰهُ Allāhu = Allah
مُحَمَّدٌ Muhammadun = Muhammad
رَسُولُ Rasūlu = Messenger
اللّٰهِ Allāhi = of Allah
